University partnerships

We work closely with partner universities across the UK to provide trained and qualified coaches to students from underrepresented backgrounds to make the most our of their university experience. This includes students who are eligible for Free School Meals, those who are first in their family to go to university, students with care experience and undergraduates living with a disability.

We exist to provide additional and external support to students who we know are likely to face additional barriers in the transition to university. We work to ensure students utilise their university’s systems of support, engage well with staff and other students and develop their confidence and enjoyment of university life as a result.

“I am extremely impressed to hear of the work The Bridging Project is doing to reduce drop out rates amongst disadvantaged young people at university. It is crucial that we tap into the brilliant and diverse talent that our country has to offer, and make sure that all students succeed at university.”

- Michelle Donelen, Previous Minister of State for Universities

We’re proud of the difference we make to our students

“My coach is a very good listener and helps me work through my problems step by step. It's useful that my coach has her own university experience to draw from too, which helps to make the conversation flow really easily.”
